What insurance do I require?
Our current insurance is public liability through the Australasian Living History Federation for $20,000,000. This is an annual fee.

Do you use sharp swords?
Sharps are never used in partner training. Practice cutting with sharps will only be carried by a minimum rank of Fechter with a Freifechter present in a strictly controlled environment.

What will it cost me to start up?
The only fee at the moment is the $40 public liability insurance with the ALHF. Once you have attended a few lessons you will want a basic set of gear rather than using the club gear. A non electric mask from Leon Paul is $140, a wooden sword made by club members is $50 and a pair of gloves range from the lowest end cricket gloves for $20 to custom HEMA gloves for $250.

How often do I have to go?
It is up to you as the training is very flexible. Training happens outside the dedicated times all the time so ask on facebook if anyone is available to get together.
